Pupae Metamorphosing at the Butterfly Garden in Boracay Island, Philippines
This is a continuation (sort of) from my first photohunt as the photos on this week’s theme were taken from the same Butterfly Garden. More photos of the pupae “hanging” before its final transfiguration into beautiful, colorful butterflies…

Amazing photos!!!
Mine’s posted, hop on over if you can find time! Have a super weekend.
These are nice shots. They’re like hanging by a moment.
Now that is anticipation nice one
Very cool shots!
I saw an awesome caterpillar yesterday and did NOT have my camera with me! He was black and fuzzy and hanging upside down. It would have been perfect for this weeks theme.
Hi hootin’ Anni: Thank you! I’ll sure visit your site. “Hang” in there! LOL
Lynn: I love that one– hanging in a moment! can i use that line? LOL. Thank you for the appreciation.
Cool photo. I think so people forget (or never knew) that one can raise caterpillars and watch them as they evolve through various stages until they emerge as beautiful butterflies.
Good theme photo. Perfect hanging.
hi marcia: wow, there is a great metaphor for it! i like it- should have waited for a theme like “anticipation” huh, instead of taking it literally! LOL
thank you for stopping over!
hey suzanne: aaaaw! indeed that would have been a great shot!! i know the feeling of NOT having a camera when you see a great opportunity like that.
BUT what’s worst is what i did twice already: carrying a camera BUT forgot the freakin’ battery!! i think having a camera with the battery attached/intact while you’re charging it WILL work for me so i’m on a lookout for one!! LOL
Thank you for dropping by!
Those were some pretty colorful pupae. Almost as pretty colored as the butterfly!
Hi BakerWatson! “perfect hanging” - thanks!
I know, to actually watch one specie transform into a totally different form is like magic! One of life’s mysteries…
Thanks for checking out my photo for this week’s theme. See you on your site!
Yes, the pupae colors got me too! I’ve seen just one colored ones and this has two. When they become butterflies, they have black, yellow and white in them!
It’s always the butterflies that take centerstage, I’m glad to have this chance to show pupae…
Thank you for stumbling on my site!
Very Pretty! I love butterflies, but can’t stand bugs. Kim
LOL, me too… but the pupae look so peaceful ‘hanging’ there together. it’s my first time to have seen pupae up close. the caterpillar didn’t look all that gross either!
Wow, cool photos - I have seen them hanging before but not that color. Interesting.
Thank you for the visit tnchick! Yes, their colors are interesting. As i’ve read into it, the philippines produce one of the most colorful butterflies and apparently have the most number of species in the world!
i really liked the pupae color in a shallower note just because it even matches my theme design! LOL
i never thought they’re real! they looked like they’re hanging plastic canisters. LOL
LOL! Amazing isn’t it? And those are Philippine pupae- one of the nicest kinds in the world!
salamat sa bisita!
WOW:D where did you take these shots?:)
Hi Cating! What? You just looked at the photos and didn’t have time to read?! Tsk, tsk… LOL. Just kidding! I don’t mind.
I took those photos at the Butterfly Garden in Boracay Island, Philippines.
Thanks for visiting my site. I’ll visit yours too!
are those pupae? of course they are… Boracay is turning into an all in type of destination huh?! Cool choice!
Hi philos! indeed Boracay has it all now!! my first visit was 15 years ago and they had nothing then but I must say the beach was way better at that time. Now, the progress did great for the island but overall the beach isn’t like what it used to be– things you have to pay for development… you win some, lose some!
thanks for the note and the visit!
