Thanks for you comment Arielle.

It was intentionally long winded because it is supposed to be a course 101 for people who have no idea what creative commons means or what copyscape is.

As for your second note, that's just semantics and I am referring to the original Copyright law that dates back to 1887 during the Berne Convention that basically created the groundwork for the "copyright law" perse that is existing to this day. What you now know as the copyright law is based on that 1887 Berne Convention meet up. So I could say the law is in existence for "hundreds of years"... doesn't have to be exact...

I wasn't also referring to ANY KIND OF LAW here, this the THE law of laws of copyright. It is infallible and has withstood the test of time. It is not just your ordinary law created by different governments today that are at best politically motivated therefore- MUST be continually questioned and/or challenged.

I don't think anybody would or should question the copyright law, period. But what do I know right?

Thank you for an interesting exchange. Have a nice day. :-)<div class="comment-remix-meta"><a href="#" class="replyto" onclick="replyto('1335','dmeemai'); return false;">Reply</a> - <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('1335','dmeemai','Thanks for you comment Arielle. \n\nIt was intentionally long winded because it is supposed to be a course 101 for people who have no idea what creative commons means or what copyscape is. \n\nAs for your second note, that\'s just semantics and I am referring to the original Copyright law that dates back to 1887 during the Berne Convention that basically created the groundwork for the \"copyright law\" perse that is existing to this day.

Good entry overall. It’s a bit long winded in saying what Creative Commons is, which is basically a license. To reuse a copyrighted work of another, one must have the permission, in the form of a license, from the owner; CC provides simple templates of such licenses.

Anyway. “The Copyright law has been in existence for hundreds of years! You can’t question this law…” In existence for hundreds of years, no– more like “around two hundred years”. As with any other law, you can always question this one; question it, seek changes to it or seek its removal, but not break it while it still exists.

Have a nice day. =)
