I checked again and again and YouTube keeps coming back with: “This account is suspended.” Very odd that YouTube could just take down a hugely popular site like that without any word or explanation! I’ve seen account after account shut down because of copyright claims by third parties BUT as far as I know they (Erin and Roxanne) are doing all original work except of course they’re covering someone else’s hit but 80% of YouTube videos are from ordinary people singing somebody else’s hit! That was how Charice Pempengco and Arnel Pineda were noticed. And that was how Rin on the Rox got their break! Well, short break. I’d like to hope that this isn’t the end of them and I don’t want to say that their 15-minute of fame is over. It hasn’t started yet!
Erin Perey and Roxanne Ilano released a statement on their MySpace account and have this to say:
Our YouTube has been PERMANENTLY DISABLED! We do not know exact details or the reason for the suspension of our account, but usually when accounts are terminated, it is due to copyright infringing. We weren’t even notified before the deletion of our videos and account. We do not understand why they have suspended OUR account because of terms of violation when a great percentage of YouTube users do not have copyright permission either. We are thinking that all of the fame we have gained from just singing on YouTube has forced them to act against us.
We are deeply saddened by this whole situation, for YouTube is what started it all for us as far as music and singing goes and was also a way to communicate to our fans all over the world. Rin on the Rox will not end because YouTube is gone. We will have an original song up soon, and hopefully even a single. Our website is in the making and we will also be having more Rin on the Rox merchandise for sale soon. Please continue to support us throughout this whole ordeal. We are alive through you, our fans so please, please keep supporting.

around this time
every year since you left
you get me in this pensive mode
it's not as painful as
when i think about you
around the time we met
yes see, i had to think about you
twice every year.
that's all ...

It’s a pity and absurd.
That’s true Geri, both pity and absurd. Some people are creating petitions on Youtube to reinstate the channel but I don’t think YouTube will give in to that unless Rin on the Rox deletes ALL their previous videos and start from scratch using a guitar or their own instruments… that will be too much work because they’d have to hire someone, and it will be like a band of some sort.
yoututbe sucks!!
i think its stupid.. we’ve all come to love rin on the rox… i work 10 hours a day and just watching those two amazing girls sing on youtube takes away all the stress,,, and suddenly.. boom! their account is suspended.. is somebody from youtube jealous or something???? haaaay….
you go girls!! we’ll support you all the way… pure filipina talent.
Welllll. I really like rin on the rox and it sucks that their account got deleted. I think that they have beautiful voices, but they only got suspended because some of the actual songs they sang, were better than the actual people who made them up.I really hope to have more updates for rin on the rox, I will miss them if they don’t put up more you tube videos. I want to know what is going on, because I am one of your biggest fans.
I wanted to let you know, again that I support you, you show filipino pride to all of the filipinos out there!
Haha, I am filipino, and I am glad to say that mostly because of you.
I’m so sorry that this account was deleted. I really liKe Rin on the Rox.
I’ll miss them
You have to remember that YouTube was bought long ago by the big, macho corporation, Viacom. I expect nothing less of such a corporation that doesn’t understand what REAL social networking/marketing is. If it weren’t for people covering some songs, I would’ve never had interest in the actual songs; Covers helped me discover new songs.
