“Dmeemai” the Blogger

Growing up I have just been ‘Mae’ to family and close friends. When our youngest sister, Inah was learning to talk at the age of 2, she couldn’t say Mae! She would call me “Mee” or “Mai,” never “Mae.” My family and friends followed suit and began calling me “Meemai.”

I was already in college at that time and I just had a new nickname! I kinda liked it and it stuck. ‘D’ was just added along the way to mean ‘The Meemai.’ My sister did finally learn to say my name right but everybody else calls me “Meemai!” I would interchangeably use Eam or Dmeemai in most of my social network affiliations including blogging.

In one of my better moods. This is ME when I’m not PMSing!

Sinigang as a Blog

This is both a mixed bag and personal blog, not a food blog; although I may talk about food sometimes! :-) Sinigang is a metaphor to signify all my favorites in life; all that interests me (or not!); I love computer and the internet. Funny that I didn’t need it as much 15 years ago but since 1993, I have been a computer user! Explore some of my web finds! I like poetry and you could see me attempting to create a lot of it in my posts. I write short stories, most of them just on my head! I do have some on this blog to share!

I heart music and the movies! Although I can’t act, sing or dance, I love theater! Being close to New York, I’m lucky to have seen the best shows in Broadway! I know I should write more about it and I will, here are the samplings… Oh and I so LOVE live concerts! So far I have seen Alanis Morissette, Phil Collins, Matchbox Twenty, Colbie Calliat, Chris Daughtry, Blondie, the greats Lyle Lovett and Steely Dan and other I can’t think of right now. I’ve been putting off posting on those and I really should!

I love my family and this whole crazy love-hate relationship with them- can’t be without them! I spilled some here and here! I love my friends too! I enjoy traveling very much! Have been to most parts of the East Coast, a little bit of California, Japan, Hong Kong and major key cities in the Philippines! Traveling goes hand in hand with my love for photography! Ever since I got my first film camera, I was addicted and digital camera only made it worse. I’m crazy when I carry one. I take hundreds of photos in one event and over the years have accumulated to gazillion photos! I have three 500 GB external hard drives just full of music and photos and backups of the same… :-)

In the course of blogging, I have some awards from fellow bloggers which I’m really thankful for and very appreciative of. You can find them here…
